Summer Cold H-E-Double Hockey Sticks!

Thanks Bob. He gave me a summer cold! I woke up this morning at around 4:30 am to a coughing and sneezing fit. My ears were all plugged up and when I blew my nose they got even worse. I took benedryl, thank goodness for that stuff, and it seemed to ease everything off enough for me to quickly get back to sleep.

I woke up and checked the time and groaned. I’d wanted to be on the road about the time I’d woken up. No problem, I knew what I was gonna wear, got showered, got out the door, was in Marc’s buying a gift bag when I realized I didn’t have the directions printed out. Crap. So I run home, print them out, and get on the highway. Unfortunately an upset stomach prevented me from making the baby shower, I was worried about getting 2 pregnant women sick with my cold… or whatever I have… and so headed home.

To say the least today was sucky, but atleast the kitty is using her kitty hammock. That’s a bright spot. I thought she’d never use it after she went all crazy and nearly fell off it. Musta been some strooong cat nip!

Here’s a picture of my victory.

Getting Sick

So, I think I’m getting a cold compliments of Bobert! Now, to make his status with me lower, I bought him a candy bar yesterday… just because… and after he thanked me for it and the subject changed he proceeded to snap at me for asking him to spray the tub with the after shower stuff. I mean, I clean that thing atleast every third day. This weekend I cleaned it two days in a row because I wanted to take a bath. I have no idea what he puts in the bath water, but my gosh… have the courtesy to rinse it out afterwards!

Anyway, I’m slightly grumpy today. Can you tell? I’m not really sure where it all came from, but I start doubting myself and all the things I was possitive about and then I get mad at myself… vicious cycle, I tells ya. And all because I didn’t get enough sleep! It was kinda worth it… in a wierd way. The cat was snuggling with me, and it was kinda nice to have something warm snuggled up with me in bed. Sad, aren’t I?

So, my mom went to get a new washer and dryer today… and just before we left the microwave started putting off sparks, so she added that to her list as well. We’ve been doing a little research in consumer reports for the best for the buck, and we found that the whirlpool duet washer/dryer was rated rather highly so that’s what she got! The salesman was so excited to get such a HUGE sale that he talked until I thought I’d throw myself down on the groud and cry! At one point he was telling me about his oldest child. He says, “She’s around your age.” and I was like, “Yeah?” and he says, “Yeah, you’re what..18? 19?” And I smiled and said, “I’m 27.” He was like, “Oh! Well, enjoy it while you can, girlfriend!” and I gave him a polite laugh. I’m sure when I really will appreciate how young I look, it’ll catch up with me and I’ll look 10 years OLDER. Thanks for the reminder evil salesman. *sniffle* I’m gonna have to start carrying around my birth certificate so people believe me when I tell them my age. I’ll just pin it to my shirt and say, “See!? 27!” So, all-in-all it was a better time at Best Buy than the last time we were there and had to walk out on the sales guy he was so annoying. On an even brighter note, I saw the speakers I’m gonna get. *nodnod* That’s if the ones I found downstairs won’t hook up to my computer. We shall see!

I’m down 1 blue t-shirt, left behind in Maryland when I was there on vacation. Happily, it found a new home, and I couldn’t be more flattered. I’ve got more where that one came from! So, c’est la vie! I couldn’t be happier!

I went to Marc’s today for a little retail therapy, but it didn’t really work to cheer me up. A phone call while I was there certainly did the trick, though.

Bad Day Made Better

Today is a very good day. It didn’t start out that way…well… actually it did, but got progressively worse do to my horribly worrying mind at work. Say ‘horribly worrying mind at work’ 10x fast! Wait, maybe it’s not that hard?

Anyway, so I have a brand new very girly bed spread now. Not that icky blue & maroon thing that’s way too boyish for me!

Both the animals are coming in my room a ton now, when both were a little leary of it in here since it was a room that no one really was in very much before I got here. The cat sleeps with me at night, and the dog will come up in the morning and sleep next to me. The funny thing is, my brother always says how his cat is antisocial. “Yeah, if she’s sitting on your lap, it’s just because she wants to be in the place you’re sitting.” Well so not true! She refuses to jump up on my lap when I’m sitting at the computer, and any time I leave, she gets in the chair and tries to fall asleep as fast as she can so I won’t disturb her. But! The other night I was going from my room down to get a drink and the cat was in the hallway, so I said hello as I passed her (yes I talk to the animals, hush) and she was crying and crying… so my brother opens his door and she walks in. He was about to shut it when I walked past and she shot out of his room and into mine. Yeah, she freakin’ hates me. Hahaha! I can’t imagine why she likes my room better! It couldn’t be the kitty treats, now could it?

Hrm, I’ll have to think on that. Muahahaha!

Weekend Bliss

Well, this weekend was awesome, to say the least. I went to the movies, which I haven’t done in a long, long while. All-in-all I had the most relaxing, wonderful weekend I think I’ve had in …..hrm….. lets just say a really long time.

Maryland was gorgeous, and even though I didn’t get to see as much of it as I’d like to have, what I saw was great. We went past the biggest mall I think I’ve ever seen. It has a shoe store the size of Bay Village that I wouldn’t allow myself to look at, or I might have had to buy a new bag to take all the things I bought home in! You know me and shoes!

We saw dodgeball, which was hilarious but had a kinda cheesy ending, and alien vs. predator, which started out kinda boring but was interesting over all. I kinda wanted to see “The Village” for a good scare, but I think from the reviews I’ve seen that it might be a renter.

It barely rained at all, even though the weather forcast was calling for major thunder storms. Infact, it was really beautiful weather. Nice and warm, but not too too warm. Perfect. Just like my weekend!

P.S. Princess, I’m so sorry I didn’t get a chance to call you before I left. The night you called I got off the treadmill at 10:30pm and my mom informed me you go to bed earlier than that so I didn’t want to disturb.

Iowa Pictures

As promised, here are the Iowa pictures.

(Pictures were making my blog too slow, if you want to see them again, just lemme know.)

Welp, that would be that! You know, I know I complained in the beginning when I got back, but I actually miss the little demons. I could do without the bruises, but I really miss them.

Allergy Fun!

Alright, so I’m like… way allergy pill tired because benadryl is the best, but makes me sleeeepy. They mowed the lawn today, which is my worst nightmare, on top of having a bee sting and the cat somehow sneak into my room in the middle of the night and sleep by me. I woke up in this haze of… what time is it? 10? It was just weird. I never get up that late. I could feel that my eye was all swollen and made it look like a slug had somehow gotten into my eyelid and I knew what I would see even before I glanced in the mirror in horror. Yes horror. No matter how many times I’ve gotten something in my eye that’s made it swell up, there’s just something about seeing my eye all gross and puffy that makes me nervous. But I’ll live…. but that bee freakin’ won’t!

Today my mission (albeit very lazily) was to find that hive or nest or whatever and keel, keel, keel! I was read to once from a bee keeler’s website that the best time to attack is at night when they’re all cozy in their sticky little home. If you spray during the day you risk some of the workers being out and about and rebuilding when you’re not looking. So ok, enough about the bees, already.

Ms. Princess has asked where I’ll be vacationing. Well, it’s a state that starts with an M. If you can guess it, I’ll tell you if you’re right. Not that I care who knows, cause I don’t, but what would make you people read my site? Certainly not my bee talk.

Oh! Yesterday I mastered grilling on my parent’s gas grill. It’s a lot harder than you might think! I thought, “how hard could it be?” until I put some sausages and hot dogs on the BBQ and they were like little charcoals when I was done. The secret is….find the hot spots, and don’t freakin’ use them! Anyway, off to BBQ some hotdogs.

I wonder if grouchiness is a side effect of being stung by a bee?

Yes, today I’m even more swollen…. freakin’ bee.

Life will go on and such, I just have to keep saying, “Mommy, please don’t hit me again!” when I’m in public or something. Bees need to die. *nodnod*

Mudder-Feekin’ Bee!

Today while sitting outside with my mom, brother, joanis, and bob a bee flew at my mom. She swished it away and it came directly at my face, stinging the corner of my eye. Mudder-feekie was like a kamikaze going for my face! And while I’m trying desperately to make the pain stop, my mother thinks I’m making it up because she didn’t see the bee sting me. Well, the swelling around my eye didn’t come from no where!

Freakin’ little bastage lived, too. *sigh* And! This morning I fell on the stairs and could have a doozy of a bruise after THAT swelling goes down. I’m afraid if I go out in public people will think I’m being beat at home, for heaven sake. Just not my day!
